Goals and Objectives of Junie Quimby, your friendly collaborative school librarian:

As your school librarian my goal is to form strong collaborative relationships with the teachers at our school. We can achieve the following, together in our quest to promote literacy and prepare students for the 21st Century:
  • Create lesson plans that strengthen student literacy knowledge.
  • Promote student research skills.
  • Teach the ethical use of information acquisition.
  • Model inquiry research skills that will enable students to become independent learners and thinkers.
  • Establish acceptable technology information use.
  • Guide students in developing their own unique learning styles.
  • Motivate student learning by creating positive experiences at the library.

Goals and Objectives of the Junie Quimby Elementary School Library Collection:

Your school library features an extensive, curriculum-based collection that will help promote student learning. All library resources are made available to library stakeholders with the following:
  • An interactive library website accessible from school and home.
  • Database links featured by the library website that can be accessed at anytime for both students and teachers.
  • An interactive blog featuring reviews and commentary on current fiction and non-fiction books.
  • On-site computers with Internet access available to the community.
  • A collection of graphic novels supporting the literary classics and high-interest reading.
  • An informative Q&A guide for citing sources and avoiding plagiarism.
